Here's a pencil doodle with discontinuities. I started by thinking about a fuzzy caterpillar, but made no attempt to actually draw one. Parts that I like include the arrowish beastie at the upper left, and the 'Doctor Who' scarf at lower left. The image has been rotated 90 degrees clockwise from the orientation in which I drew it.
